Using a Router?
 

Setting up with a Router and possible issues that might appear.

Use of a Router is available for any cable plan. (Hypothetically you could have unlimited number* of computers on the Internet at one time.  *Depends on limitations of the Router). CableONE.Net does not support LANS / Networks the following is for informational purposes only.

** If using a wireless router please follow the manufacturer’s instructions to secure your wireless device (example: Configuring WEP security)

Un-supported connection (Cable ONE does not support configuring routers or internal networks)

 

Step ONE: Power down and turn off your Computer (this also includes other Computers and or Routers).
Step TWO: Physically unplug the power from the Cable Modem.  (Even if your Cable Modem has a power button unplug the power cord.)
Step THREE: After the lights go out on the Cable Modem, count to five and then plug in the power to the Cable Modem. (Do not power up any other device.)
Step FOUR: Wait until the "Cable Light" goes solid on your Cable Modem.  (Depending on your brand of Cable Modem you may not have designated "Cable Light".)
Step FIVE: Now power up the Router.
Step SIX: Turn on ONE computer.
Step SEVEN: Open your browser and follow the instructions on the screen.
