    Checking your e-mail account settings in Mac Mail 10.4

  These instructions will guide you through verifying your e-mail is setup properly in the Mac Mail 10.4 program.
 
 


  1. From the menu, click Mail and then select Preferences.
    2.  
     
     
     


  2. Click on Accounts.
    3.  
     
     
     


     
  3. Account Type should say POP
    4.  
     
  4. Type a friendly name to identify the account in the Description field.
    5.  
     
  5. Type your CableONE.Net e-mail address in the E-mail Address field.
    6.  
     
  6. Type your name in the Full Name field.
    7.  
     
  7. Type mail.cableone.net in the Incoming Mail Server field.
    8.  
     
  8. Type your username in the User name field. Your username is the first part of your e-mail address (without @cableone.net).
    9.  
     
  9. Type your password in in the Password field.
    10.  
     
  10. Ensure mail.cableone.net is selected in the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) field.
    11.  
     
     
     


     
  11. Click on Advanced
    12.  
     
  12. Ensure the top three boxes are checked.
    13.  
     
  13. Close the window and save if prompted. You have verified the Macintosh Mail 10.4 program is configured properly.
