    Enabling SMTP Authentication in Mac Mail 10.4

     
     


  1. From the menu, click Mail and then select Preferences.

  2. Click on Accounts.
    3.  
     
     
     


     
  3. Click on Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) and select Add Server.
    4.  
     
     
     


     
  4. Type authmail.cableone.net in the Outgoing Mail Server field.
    5.  
  5. Type your username in the User name field. Your username is the first part of your e-mail address (without @cableone.net).
    6.  
     
  6. Type your password in in the Password field.
    7.  
     
  7. Click on OK. You have configured Mac Mail 10.4 to use SMTP authentication.
