Linksys Router: Basic Configuration
  
Access to Configuration Window:
In the address bar of your browser type 192.168.1.1 and then press the Enter key on your keyboard. You will prompted to enter the network password. Default settings: Leave the Username box empty and type in admin as the password.(View Screenshot)
Setup Screen:
This screen contains all of the routers basic setup functions. Most users will be able to use the routers default settings without making any changes. If you require help during configuration, please see the manufactureres user guide. (View Screenshot)
Password Screen:
For security reasons, you should set a password on your router. Your password must be less than 64 characters. (View Screenshot)
Status Screen:
This screen displays the routers current status and settings. This information is read-only. (View Screenshot)
DHCP Screen:
You can configure the router to act as a DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) server for your network. Consult the user guide for instructions on how to setup your PC's to work with this feature. (View Screenshot)
Log Screen:
There are some log settings and lists on this page. (View Screenshot)
Security Screen:
This panel allows you to configure your router to enforce enhanced network security using ZoneAlarm Pro and PC-Cillin. (View Screenshot)
Help Screen:

Advanced / Filters Screen:
Filters enable you to prevent certain PC's on your network from accessing your Internet Connection. (View Screenshot)
Advanced / Forwarding Screen:
Port Forwarding can be used to setup public services on your network. When users from the Internet make certain requests on your router, they will be redirected to the specified IP. (View Screenshot)
Advanced / Dynamic Routing Screen:
They dynamic routing setup allows your network to dunamically adjust to layout changes (the router will continue to function properly if you choose not to enable this feature). (View Screenshot)
Advanced / Static Routing Screen:
This feature sets a fixed path for data to follow on the network. The router will continue to function properly if you choose not to enable this feature. (View Screenshot)
Advanced / DMZ Host Screen:
This feature sets a local user to be exposed to the Internet. Any user on the Internet can access in/out data from the DMZ Host. Enable the feature as you wish to use special-purpose service. (View Screenshot)
Advanced / MAC Address Clone Screen:
